A Poor Attempt At Spring Planning

Wednesday, 29 February 2012

zaraI'm currently doing a massive wardrobe overhaul sorting everything into 'keep', 'sell', and 'charity shop' piles. It's something I've been meaning to do for a while because there are only so many times I can stare at a wardrobe full of clothes and exclaim 'I have nothing to wear'. Part of the problem is the amount of stuff I amass during car boot sale seasons when I'm able to buy items of clothing for pennies which then gets thrown into my wardrobe never to be seen again. I think reading blogs like Dead Fleurette has taught me the importance of investing and planning for your future purchases, even if you're not spending a lot of money to make sure the money you are spending is spent well.

Pictured above are all the things I'd like to purchase for spring, all from Zara. The silk jacket looks so comfy and I'm a sucker for a good floral print. I also have urges to cut this jacket up and make a pretty pillow out of it but I will resist these urges. I've been looking for a nice pair of cut offs that don't show half your ass off (I'm looking at you Topshop) and these shorts look perfect so I'm hoping when I try them on they look even half as good on me as they do on the model. I'm a big blazer/jacket fan and have the red version of the yellow jacket, it's the perfect fit and goes well with everything, so getting it in banana yellow can only be a good thing... The silk jacket looks so comfy and I'm a sucker for a good floral print. Finally the dress on the right is something silly like £25.99 and has a beautiful cut and seems like it could be dressed up or down for multiple wearing opportunities.

That's as far as I've got with my wardrobe planning and re reading it I realise I've still got a way to go when it comes to the dead fleurette standards of wardrobe planning - taking note from this amazing post. But hopefully these purchases will last me for many summers ahead.
